Omar Afuni is a singer/songwriter based in Toronto who first found success on YouTube in 2010 doing covers of some of his favorite artists' hits. His mash-ups and medleys were featured on many music blogs. They also caught the attention of celebrities such as Stefano Gabbana of Dolce & Gabbana, songwriter/producer Linda Perry from 4 Non Blondes who wrote Christina Aguilera's hit 'Beautiful', and indie R&B recording artist Travis Garland.

Omar has released three albums independently. The first two titled 'Resurrected' & 'Soundproof' were completely written and produced by Omar himself. Both albums were given away to his fans for free on his website at the time; 'Resurrected' was downloaded over 35,000 times.

The album 'RUSH' was released internationally on October 7th, 2016 led by the title track and heartfelt ballad 'Perfect'. The album was selected by iTunes' editors to be featured under the 'New Music' tab on iTunes USA and was one of the best-selling Pop releases during the week of its release. The album was released physically at Virgin Megastores across the GCC & was a best-seller at several locations in the UAE.

Omar has performed on stages around the world opening for Akon in Sweden in 2015, at du Arena in Abu Dhabi in 2017 with his band Qattana as part of YasalamAE's annual ETC which took place on the opening night of F1 Grand Prix headlined by Calvin Harris, Mumford & Sons, J Cole & P!nk, and in front of 13,000 people at the Blended Festival in Dubai in 2018 where he performed alongside the Backstreet Boys & Melanie C from the Spice Girls.

Omar was gearing up to release the first single off his upcoming album in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic happened. This put his plans for the lead single on hold. However, he decided to release the song 'Cold Night' from the album given its message and donated all profits from streaming the song to the COVID-19 Response Fund.

2021 marked the 10th anniversary of his debut album ‘Resurrected’, so to celebrate, Omar released new versions of the songs ‘Resurrect Me’ and ‘Blind’. Omar is currently planning his release schedule for his upcoming album. The first single ‘Breakfast’ - a funk/disco number reminiscent of the sounds of George Michael, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder - was released on 27 October 2023.
